Gund Plush Toys

The name 'Gund' has always been associated with plush toys and is one of the world's oldest stuffed toy manufacturers turning out thousands of stuffed cuddly cute stuffed animals that are very difficult to resist. It was Adolph Gund, a German immigrant who settled in Connecticut as early as 1898, who first began designing and making these stuffed animals. The very first stuffed animals Gund made were the teddy bears. No child in the early 1900's would go to bed with out a cute cuddly Gund teddy bear. It was in 1907 that Jacob Swedlin joined Adolph Gund to help him in the toy business. All the stuffed animals that Adolph made were from the best materials available and the craftsmanship was unparallel. Adolph Gund made every single stuffed animal with his bare hands and love in his heart. That was his formula for success in the stuffed toy business. In 1925, Adolph Gund with no children of his own to continue his business sold his stuffed toys business to Swedlin. Till date even as the business is handled by the grandson of Swedlin, Adolph Gund's age old formula still remains the same. Swedlin soon introduced other stuffed animals under the Gund name. Soon the likes of Donald Duck, Felix the Cat, the all time favorite Mickey Mouse, Popeye and other animal characters became famous. "Gotta Getta GUND" is famous all over the world as has been the company's leading advertising slogan. Gund stuffed toys are not only soft they are very huggable and surely there is not a child in the world who would not have a Gund stuffed animal in his or her soft toy collection. Adults are not to be left behind either. There are many ardent Gund fans who have been collecting the cuddly soft Gund stuffed bears and other animals out of sheer love for them.
